August…

So, the photos don’t always load properly when you click on my blog. I figured out that it may be because I’m not making the images smaller and the files are way too large. If anyone is a web genius, I would love some insight on how to make the images smaller on iPhoto so it’s super easy to import onto the blog.

Most months are fun in our house but July, August and September are especially fun because we celebrate all of our boys’ birthdays. August is Camp’s turn.

Camp turned 5 last year. He is so smart, funny and one of the most compassionate kids ever! He is also a deep thinker. The questions he asks and the reasoning he uses to come up with certain ideas amazes me. He doesn’t have the most “common sense” all the time, but I am hoping experience will teach him. As most kids do, Camp loves to open gifts.

DSC_0884 DSC_0890One funny thing about Camp is that he doesn’t care for cake or many sweets. 99% of the time he will not eat any cake at a party. I asked him what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday and he chose carrot cake. DSC_0909_2DSC_0914_2

Crawford is so silly!
DSC_0908_2
He had a pool party and invited a few friends. It was superhero themed, Camp’s favorite right now. He did blow out the candles and soak up everyone singing to him, but did not eat any of his cake!DSC_0942_2 My cousin has a little girl named Sophi. She is one month older than Camp and we have loved getting them together since they were little. We are so happy they live in Cary, North Carolina so that it’s not too far to drive. They love the beach, and we are so happy for them to come all the time, if they can! The kids have a blast together. DCIM101GOPRO DCIM101GOPROFor Camp’s birthday, my parents got the boys tickets for the  Pirates Voyage in Myrtle Beach. It was really a great show and the boys didn’t hardly move because they were so into the show. They didn’t really eat much, but loved to watch the pirates and their acrobatic stunts.
DSC_0982_2Crew enjoying himself too. DSC_0977_2_2One of the highlights were the awesome pirate costumes my mom got for the boys to wear to the show. DSC_0996_2Sand angles.

DSC_1040_2Camp and Crawford started back to preschool at St. Peter’s. Camp is so tall…. here is his photo from starting this year…

And a photo from the first year he started when he was 3.
DSC_0139
Here is Crawford’s first year (same age as Camp above) in the 2 year old class at St. Peter’s. He was so excited about going to school. I think Camp may have been even more excited Crawford was going so he could show him around and see him all day at school.
DSC_1057_2

This is Camp this year. He looks so grown up!

DSC_1054

Both boys outside of school. It was so foggy and there was so much humidity, I didn’t have time to let my camera acclimate so we have a foggy photo.

July…

July is one of our favorite months around our house. It’s obviously Summer, which means it’s warm, Keith and Crew both have birthdays in July, we normally have family come in to visit, and we always look forward to celebrating the 4th.

We have been very blessed the last few years with not terribly hot 4th celebrations. Our tradition is to go out to the beach and play with a lot of our family and friends then go to the Pawleys Island Parade. We normally leave the beach and head home for lunch and naps. After we are rested, we head over to Keith’s Aunt Susan and Uncle Henry’s house for hot dogs and fun with family. This year Keith had to work that evening so I took the boys and then parked by the beach to watch fireworks.

Here are photos from the 4th!

From left: Asher, Crawford, Camp and Blaze. If you notice the big boys are all cool as they watch the parade start and Asher and Crawford are a little more apprehensive.
DSC_0400 Crew was a little hot and not too sure about all of the commotion. DSC_0415 Camp is so sweet and polite, of course he waved at almost every vehicle that passed. DSC_0432My sweet family.
DSC_0439_2 Grandma Kathy and all of the grand-boys. DSC_0475 I think this picture is so funny of Camp. He wanted to be buried and we put a little 4th of July decoration by his head. haha. DSC_0478 Crawford LOVES some Aunt Anna Grace!!! (We sure do miss her!!!…this little Light of mine).

DSC_0483Crew started really focusing on putting things together. (On a side note, his mullet was terrible- well, if you were trying to achieve a mullet, he actually had a pretty good one!)
DSC_0499 We celebrated Keith’s birthday. The boys had helped Keith open presents before we took the photo below. DSC_0504Keith hates to be sung to but will endure the torture just to get the cake!!
DSC_0507 Playing on the slip-in-slide.DSC_0555 SO MUCH FUN!!

DSC_0568 DSC_0583I took a few photos of Crew as he turned a year old. He grew so quickly!
DSC_0604_2Time to address the mullet once again. Crew got his first haircut. Normally I do all haircuts at the salon because of the mess, but we were having professional photos taken by CARTERelite STUDIO. (Abbie is AWESOME!!!! Book her!! 🙂 We scheduled the photos last minute so it was a hair “emergency” to cut Crew’s hair. Poor boy was actually sick and running a 102 fever so he wasn’t excited about much. DSC_0639 He was ready for me to be finished. They always look so grown up with their first haircut. Maybe, as a mama, that’s why I wait so long to actually cut it! DSC_0645 I took photos of my boys every week in the same chair next to the same bear to see how they grew. I dressed them in the same clothes too. It was awesome to watch them grow weekly and even more fun to see how different each of the kids were in size!! Below was Crew’s LAST first year, weekly photos!! DSC_0662 On this sweet boys birthday we went to Caledonia for lunch.DSC_0669 He ate his very first sweet treat.DSC_0685 And loved it!! DSC_0715 He just loves to play. DSC_0730Here are the weekly photos I mentioned above. I printed them all of for his birthday party so we could see how much he grew and changed.

DSC_0763 DSC_0762
He had a great time opening gifts. His big brothers did too!! DSC_0771 DSC_0778 He had a “real” cake that he didn’t really care for. I gave him another muffin he had from his birthday day that he loved so much. He wasn’t too sure about everyone singing to him. DSC_0794 DSC_0809_2 Camp is sometimes the only one who looks goofy in group photos. He just loves to be silly and make silly faces. DSC_0827 Now Crawford, he will turn on a smile. He won’t always look “natural”, but he will look normal! hahaDSC_0832 I love this photo below. My three boys just hanging out all together. I can’t remember, but I’m sure Crew didn’t stay still for long! It was that time in the afternoon where we chill out for a bit or the boys take a nap. DSC_0865 My tan baby! DSC_0878July was a fun month!! 🙂 IMG_0319

June…

I’m back to catching up on 2012. Here goes June.

In June we went up to Fayetville, North Carolina to visit with our family there. Keith’s cousin Robin, Nancy, and their six children moved there from Georgia. We thought our visits would be more frequent with the closer distance, but we have been so busy with life we have sadly not been up there much. I am hoping maybe this year we can make a few more trips!!

When we went, for the photo below, we were celebrating their son Gabe’s graduation. It was so nice to see all of the family. Keith’s Aunt has a Yorkie named Annie. Crew LOVES all animals, especially dogs. It was so gross, but too funny to not stop him from letting her kiss him in the mouth before I snapped a photo. He thought it was hilarious!!

DSC_0270

Here’s a photo I had on Facebook, but too cute not to include for the month!

DSC_0314 Again, his love for animals. Sometimes it gets him in trouble. Our cats are super gentle but will give a fare warning bite to all of the boys. DSC_0299 Camp is such a good big brother. It’s so much fun watching him be a big brother to Crew (just adding 4 years age difference). He was helping Crew stand in the photo below. DSC_0322 We are silly around our house! IMG_0233 We celebrated Grandma Kathy’s birthday. My boys absolutely love birthdays!! They are always so excited to take part in a celebration. DSC_0289 My brother and sister-in-law came into town. They had so much fun playing together. DSC_0355I was excited to have my first billboard for the salon up and running in Pawleys. I have the space for a year and am happy with the location! I hear that people see it a lot, so I am hoping it is working to bring new clients into the salon.
DSC_0332 Crew is our crazy climber. He pulled out the chair to help himself onto the table. He still climbs all the time!! Makes me nervous!! IMG_0240 The boys play so well together. They were having electronic fun on the couch this day. Camp was playing his Ipod and Crawford was playing my phone. I think Camp was giving Crawford some new tips on playing. Camp is such a good and patient teacher!! DSC_0331 Another photo demonstrating our child with no fear! All I can imagine is him doing this on a motor cross bike….. makes me EXTRA nervous!!

DSC_0382July is up next!! 🙂

May 2012…

MAY 2012…

Every year St. Peter School has an event they call the Trike-a-Thon. The kids always look forward to bringing their bikes and scooters to school and riding with their friends. Camp actually started riding his bike without training wheels about a week earlier. We were a little nervous about letting him ride in the crowd, but he did awesome! DSC_0761 DSC_0766

Crawford wanted to be a part of everything so badly, he ran with Camp for a minute. He will love doing it himself this year!

DSC_0779

They had face painting… DSC_0787 DSC_0796

And Crew hung out and watched.

DSC_0812

They also had a Coast Guard boat to get on. Crawford thought he was doing something great as he sat next to this guy for at least 5 minutes! haha.

DSC_0807They always have a fire truck to get into and check out too! It really is such a fun day!

DSC_0811I also took the boys strawberry picking. We went to Thompson Farm & Nursery – Conway, S. It is so great out there. They really focus on education and there is so much to do out there! DSC_0824 DSC_0837

We always have to sample a few!

DSC_0861

The owners are always so kind and picked Crawford up to give him a closer look at the buffalo!

DSC_0899

Camp hung with all of the goats for a while, feeding them. As you can see, Crawford got out of there! haha. DSC_0903 DSC_0883

We also went to the Ripley’s Aquarium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. They had an awesome dinosaur exhibit!
DSC_0950

Crawford was definitely nervous a lot of the time we were there! haha. DSC_0955 DSC_0963 DSC_0969 DSC_0972 DSC_0983

The boys are so sweet playing together!
DSC_0920

I got to go to the special Mother’s Day Tea at school with Camp. He made me a bird house in blue because he knows it’s my favorite color.

DSC_0922

We also enjoyed the end of the year program Camp and his friends put on. He’s SO tall!!

DSC_0935 DSC_0930

And the water was warm enough to swim at our neighborhood pool!! It was really Crew’s first time he could enjoy slashing around. He really likes the water.

April 2012…

Evidently I took a lot of photos in the month of April! Here goes the month of April 2012…

We continued to have lots of beautiful days where we were able to play outside. Crawford proudly put his own board shorts on… if you notice they are backwards.

DSC_1246

Crew absolutely loves the water.

DSC_1253_3
I helped out with Camp’s 3 year old class Easter party. It was so much fun and so easy because most of the party was filled with an egg hunt.

DSC_0028

This is a photo of Camp’s class. Once again, impossible to get a photo of that many kids looking at the camera. They are such a fun bunch and I am happy he has been with the same sweet group for the last few years.
DSC_0084

We went to the Easter Egg hunt at All Saints. They had different groups that moved through stations that included the story of Jesus dying and rising again, making “resurrection rolls”, a relay race, a craft and an Easter egg hunt. The boys loved every moment of it.

DSC_0109

Crew just observed. (His little chicken hair looks so adorable to me in the photo below.)

DSC_0159

I think Camp found enough eggs! haha
DSC_0177

Crawford enjoyed finding the eggs and running around.
DSC_0188

This was the best family photo we could get. haha.

DSC_0199

Instead of dying eggs, last year we started decorating rice krispy treat (that I shaped like eggs). The boys really focused on decorating this year.
DSC_0206 DSC_0205

My sister, Deanna, joined us with decorating.

DSC_0211

For Easter this year, I did something a little crazy. I bought a ton of string and took it all the way around our neighborhood, starting at our front door. The boys followed the string until they arrived at our back porch where there baskets were waiting on them. I think this will be a tradition every year.
DSC_0234 DSC_0240 DSC_0249 DSC_0256 DSC_0281

Cousins photo from Easter.

DSC_0301

Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Carl with all 5 grand-boys. We did an egg hunt at their house.

DSC_0365_2

Then another egg hunt at my parent’s house.

DSC_0376

My parent’s with our boys. I love how Crew is grabbing Camp’s hair. Look at poor Camp’s face! haha.
DSC_0392

The best family photo we got from the day.

DSC_0415

We went up to Market Commons and played. It’s a lot of fun up there. Playgrounds, hills to climb and lots of space to run around.

DSC_0418

Crew hung out and watched as we played. If you have never seen his favorite blanket, here it is. I wish it were smaller so it were easier to tote around. He is usually only allowed to have it when he is sleepy or in bed.

DSC_0420

Keith helping the boys climb.

DSC_0423

We made a trip back to Columbia and visited the zoo.
DSC_0475

Crawford loved checking out the piranhas.

DSC_0479

Camp was a little grossed out, but had so much fun feeding the goats.

DSC_0497

We fed the birds and the boys had fun until they flew towards them. There was a little nectar in the hair because Crawford got a little nervous and threw his cup up.
DSC_0507 DSC_0511

Family photo at the zoo.
DSC_0516 DSC_0523

Camp tried the rock wall.

DSC_0531

Crawford rode a pony for the first time. He looks so funny to me because he is so tiny. DSC_0543Camp is a pro, this was his 2nd or 3rd time riding at the zoo.
DSC_0553 DSC_0560 DSC_0586 DSC_0593 DSC_0598

Camp and Keith tried out the ropes course.

DSC_0606

Blaze turned 5. This photo was from his birthday. Sweet best friends!
DSC_0649

Camp can ride a bike with no training wheels. We tried it out and he just took off! He is awesome on a bike. DSC_0707 DSC_0711

We have a tradition of trying to find ice cream trucks when we hear them. This one was a fun challenge. We rode all over Garden City and ended up getting in front of him and flagging him down to stop him. Crawford is a sweet eater, and Camp likes the idea, but never finishes what he gets. It’s all a mess with kids to me! haha. That’s why I keep wipes in the car. DSC_0737 DSC_0743
